Forms, visuals and handouts for every topic in your class! This bundle includes:

Models of Care Visual – This PDF can be used as a visual aid, handout or incorporated into a slide show. It discusses the differences between the medical model of care and the midwifery model of care in pregnancy. This creates a great opportunity to talk about the benefits and limitations of each.

Fear-Tension-Pain PDF – This one-page graphic has a visual of the Fear-Tension-Pain cycle as well as the reverse Confidence-Relaxation-Progress cycle. It is excellent for explaining why encouragement and relaxation are so helpful for managing contractions.

BRAIN Questions Handout – Walk your students through the BRAIN or BRAINED questions so they will feel confident discussing their options with their care providers! Can be laminated to pass around, or print as many copies as you wish to hand out to your students.

4-page Postpartum Care Worksheet – We encourage our students to write a birth plan. Let’s encourage them to also write a postpartum plan! This worksheet is an excellent homework assignment to be completed with the partner or other adults living in the home. It gives them the opportunity to talk about sleep, self-care, relationship care, meals, infant feeding, household chores, childcare, and so much more before the baby arrives and everyone is sleep deprived!

Postpartum Mood Disorder – This 2 page handout is an excellent resource to hand to the partners in class. The front page lists a few symptoms of the various forms of postpartum mood disorders. Discuss the difference between baby blues and postpartum depression. Let them know that depression and psychosis are 2 different disorders! Give the partners signs to look for. The back page is a list of factors that enhance postpartum recovery. Some are beyond the parents’ control, but some are not! Give them ways to stack the deck in their favor.

Hospital Bag Suggestions – All of my students love this list! It is a “just for fun” handout that can be passed out in class or sent in an email. It contains all the normal items and also lists a number of items that will be particularly helpful if the mother is planning an unmedicated birth.

Weekly Journal – I love this journal!! It has a place to log food for the week, write an affirmation, keep a to-do list and list pregnancy milestones. Plus, it’s cute! (This is a great one for teachers to use for themselves, too!!)

Breastfeeding Laws in NC – printable cards – I like to print these double sided on brightly colored card stock and laminate them so parents can easily carry them in a diaper bag or wallet. Sometimes just knowing they have the exact wording of the law in their pocket can give timid or nervous moms the confidence they need to breastfeed in public!

Labor Positions Sheet – This is my favorite handout I have ever made! The one-page, color document covers standing, kneeling, sitting & squatting positions with visuals, tips and explanations. It is perfect to use as a visual aid, to practice in stations or to give to your students so they can practice for homework! (A $10 value!)
